Dr. Sanjay Cherian completed his undergraduation at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, India, after which, he undertook surgical research and training at the St. Vincent’s Hospital, (University of New South Wales), Sydney, Australia. On returning to India, he undertook his higher surgical training.

He is the youngest doctor to have completed his PhD in Cardiac Surgery from the Tamil Nadu State Medical University, India.

He has won several awards & honors including:

• The Kendall’s Prize for Best Presentation in Cardiothoracic Surgery, at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Conference, Auckland, New Zealand, 1999.
• Winner of the Union’s Best Presentation Award, at The International Union of Angiology, Sydney, Australia, 1999.
• Winner of the Post–Doctoral Research Grant from the Department of Biotechnology [Government of India], 2002.

Till date, he has 28 international publications in reputed cardiovascular and surgical journals and has presented 29 papers at International and National Conferences.
