Frontier Lifeline is happy to have conducted a successful heart transplant operation on the youngest candidate in India .

International Centre for Biomedical Sciences and Technology (ICBST) is a growing unit of Frontier Lifeline and Dr.K.M. Cherian Heart Foundation founded by Dr.K.M.Cherian with a team of young scientists with extensive academic and industrial foresight with respect to modern medicine. This unit is involved in training wide spectrum of Research Scholars, Researchers and budding graduates in the field of Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology. There has been considerable advancement in the divisions of Tissue Engineering and Stem Cell Technology. After successful clinical trials, the products are in pilot clinical trials with good results. The results of multi centric trials are awaited. The ethical and biosafety aspects of the products have been critically analyzed. Stem cell therapy has been offered to ‘no option’ patients and also as a complementary therapy. The ethical and Medico-legal aspects of biomedical research are stressed upon.

• To provide students pursuing life science and related careers with good laboratory skills and technical knowledge to fulfill their academic goals.
• Narrowing the gap between the Academic Institute and Industry, there by enhancing the skills of market oriented professionals.

ICBST has guided more than 50 research projects for B.Sc., M.Sc., B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Phil and Ph.D degree in all aspects of Biotechnology. Selection is based on interview.
